    Icon4 Stainless Steel 5.1 Mini-Mod files

    OK I hate looking through threads for STUFF so what I'm thinking is that people should post there custom modded EDU, dec.scrat files and such others here and I will TRY to put them in a list like mine below. this way people can quickly find and try new ways of playing S.S with out much hassle (some is always there). (YOUR UP LOADS GO HERE)(THIS THREAD)
    ps I have vanilla S.S 5.1 patch (b I think) saved to my hard drive if anyone needs a file they lost/overwritten just PM me.

    in the SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel\data folder, there's a file called "descr_sm_factions"

    open that on up, scroll down to the teutonic-knights section, and at the bottom of it theres a field for "can have family tree" or some such that will be labeled "no". put a Yes where the no is and you're golden.

    AND
    The simplest thing to do would be to go into the descr_strat file of the campaign you're going for, copy another (preferably small) faction's "relative" list (the last few lines of the faction's section) and paste it into the desired section. Replace your faction leader's name with theirs and your heir's with their heirs, rename the leader's spouse, then any other family members, and then delete all the relations that have no parallel. Also, any non-characters (wives, underage children) will need to be given character records .

    However, imo, 4 turns per year are waaay too much turns. Then you had to play 1800!! turns to get to the end of the Medieval timeframe.
    My recommendation would be, change the "timescale 2.00" to "timescale 1.00", then you have one year per turn. Then you can use the additional export_descriptions_building ONEYEARPERTURN.txt file (in the "..../Medieval II Total War/Stainless_Steel/data" folder), which includes longer building times and increased building costs for a 1 turn = 1 year game. To activate this file, simply rename it to export_descriptions_building.txt (backup and delete the original file before).
