    Default Rome TW help

I don't know if this is the right section, if not then please move it.
I bought Rome total war from Steam not too long ago and a couple question have arisen.

How do you change the names of your generals and how do you install mods.
I thought it would be easier but since I have steam, every time I have a mod installed the main game goes straight to the mod and I cant switch back without reinstalling it.
    Please help, thanks.

As far as names go, you can't change it (not that I know of) I think you can change the names of cities, but I don't know how. (If anybody knows, please explain it)

I'm actually more about the Mods right now. What with Lord of the rings total war and RTR and all that.
Can anyone help me with that aswell?

Yep, the only mod I can get to work is total realism, and that pretty much cancels out the original, I.E I can't play normal Rome without reinstalling it.
Does anyone know how to get mods to work on the Steam version of rome total war (total war gold) with mods?
    mainly The fourth age.

I'm fairly sure all the mods should work on the Steam version. Are you sure you're reading all the installation information?

Before you start modding, I suggest you copy a couple RTWs out of your folder. Name them to the mod you are going to install in them. Also, if you get RTRPE, there's a modswitch version that allows you to still play vanilla RTW while being able to play RTRPE. I don't know why you would want to play vanilla anyways. Once you mod, you can't go back.
