    Default Olympic jackboots

If you are unaware of what happened in London yesterday have a read of this.

No comment on the rights and wrongs of China's actions in Tibet, that would justify another thread. I am concerned that the powers to be have quite literally forced this meaningless PR stunt upon us at great expense, even though the end result was entirely predictable.

Perhaps it is time Greece took on the Games permanently so as to avoid stunts like this arising again.

"In most cases, however, the torch passed through London without incident. Tessa Jowell, Britain's Olympics minister, called it "a demanding day for the police" and for the Beijing Organizing Committee, but also noted thousands had come out "to welcome the torch."

Most people don't seem to watch to mix politics with Olympics.

Would have been hilarious if some protester got the torch and legged it

Yeah just to see the 50 worn out police officers try and catch them.

It's all the protesters can do. If they could do anything of actual value do you really think they wouldn't be doing it?

Well I am told that if they did so in their own country, the minimum they could expect is a re-education session.
