    Default Soviets Vs. Maginot Line

I'm playing a MP game with one other person. I'm America, and they're France. Doomsday 1.3 with no mods, and it's February 1946. The commies pushed us out of Germany, and parts of the Netherlands, but we've stopped them at Amsterdam, and basically everything west of it. We have 8 divisions in the Maginot Line provinces, and the allied army in Belgium and the Netherlands is about 30 divisions. They took Cologne and Luxumberg, and the provinces facing them aren't very well fortified or defended. They've crossed most of the rivers immediately in their way at this point.

In the south, they occupy the Alps but can't actually get into Italy. They're constantly trying to get into Genoa, but we usually take it back one or two days later, at which point they take it again. It's kind of just been going on like that for about a month.

In terms of reinforcements, I have 6 Canadian divisions, two of which are armored and four of which are motorized, crossing the Atlantic right now, as well as 6 American mechanized divisions with artillery and tank brigades. I plan on sending them all to Belgium, which is the weakest point in our line.

In the M.E, the Soviets are fighting mostly British troops taken from Europe. They're advancing through Soviet occupied Persia into India, Syria, Iraq, and it looks like the British are having trouble stopping them. Turkey fell a long time ago.

In Asia, I have 12 Korean divisions facing 18 Soviet divisions across Wonsan, and they have probably about 6 more divisions on their way.

As for the nuclear war, a few days ago I used a B-29 squadron stationed in Norway to nuke Leningrad, taking it down from 18 I.C. to 3. Most of the other strategic bombers I have are running interdiction missions in either Italy or the Soviet army concentrations in west Germany.

What is the best way to defend Europe? The Maginot line? Or will it just be swamped through Belgium before the Canadian and American reinforcements arrive? Is Italy worth defending? Should we help the British defend the Middle East? Should the Korean divisions be withdrawn and redeployed to Europe? I've actually won this scenario once before as the British, but I'm not sure what to do as America.

I suppose you have naval superiority. Land the Canadians and the Americans behind their lines in the Baltic (Stettin probably). The AI tends to leave undefended everything but the front line. Tactical withdrawal in Italy to the Cassino line. Defence with traps (leave a region which has no river on your side undefended-pound them every time they go in)in Belgium.

We've destroyed pretty much all of the Soviet Navy, but they took over Denmark, so they control the Baltic straits. We could take a longer route through the white sea, but that would give us a harder to defend supply line, and it would take longer to get to the important provinces. I was actually thinking of using paratroopers and marines to retake Cophengagen ... how many Denmark provinces do you need to be able to go through the straits? If it's just one then that might work.

Don't abandon Italy or France wqill be taken in a pincer maneaveur. The Middle-East is worth defending simply for the Suez canal and the access to India and Australia. Only one province has oil (in standard HoI2) so it's not going to starve you of resources if you lose it

I think you only need Copenhagen, if your not sure just click on the straight and hover your mouse over the icon with a flag in the lower left corner.

Also Strategic bomber aren't good at interdiction IIRC. i used CAS and TAC's to Interdiction and Ground attack if their retreating.

also i'd keep Italy, due to the pincer attack in France. and Reinforce Netherland/ Belgium. Seconf wave of Reinforcements to go to hold the Suez canal.
