    Default Iron in Sicily (RS)?

Can we have an iron resource on Sicily in RS2.0 please?

Okay maybe Sicily does not have iron in real life but, realistically speaking there would have been a smithy somwhere on Sicily to make/repair bronze/iron age weapons.

In general i like that only specific provinces like Arretium, Segestica etc can upgrade armour but it's a bit of a pain having to ship out units back to the mainland in order to get properly Sicilian units outfitted.

Also it means that there is not much point building new units out of Sicily. Instead what I do is just build the units on the mainland, get upgraded and shift them to Sicily.

Am i the only one frustrated by this lack of iron on Sicily?

No, I have been thinking this too. I started a campaign with Syracuse, and I think I have to go far to find any iron resources.
Not a chance there is/was an iron resource in or around the Etna? Greeks and Romans thought that Hephaestos/Vulcanus had his 'workplace' (can't find right word) there, so it would be normal that kind of the best armour came from this places.
    Vale,

I was wondering about that too. According to these maps there seems to be discrepencies.

On the world map the red squares are iron.

Well, there were probably smaller deposits in Europe that aren't represented on that map or that have already been used.

Realistically the ability to upgrade armour should not be too tied to locations of mines, and more related to transport connections, road and sea etc..

Tin from Cornwall was being shipped to the rest of europe by 50bc if not before so the idea that a mine is necessary for smithys is a bit of a stretch. However, I am not knocking the idea of limiting armour upgrade centres. I think it adds to the game.

I was just saying its kind of inconvenient there isnt one on Sicily. It also kind of makes the builidng of new units on Sicily redundant because its easier to create/upgrade them directly at Arretium and then ship them off to Sicily.
