New models we need are:

1) Unarmoured caetrati like this guy on the left (new unit) - javelin (soliferum?) and spear

these are northern rougher units Cantabrian or Asturian from the northern mountains

2) unarmoured scutati - right hand guy (new unit):


3) Lusitanian spearman - right hand guy (new unit):


4) Iberian light cavalry (replaces current Bela cavalry):




5) Iberian medium cavalry (new unit) - left hand guy:


Then we'll also have the current armoured scutati and caetrati, plus the EB model of the thorakitai

I think also we could do a skin for the Velites especially if we do the wolf skin thing.

The free people can get a Celtiberian caetrati unit like the right hand one in red in this pic based on our current Caetrati model:



, plus obviously Celtiberian spearmen and a few others, but these are all covered by existing units

What is that made of ? Is the helm metal ? with a cloth covering ?

Stiffened hide most probably, although how would one attach plume to it? Sew it on?

Yes i love having this historical rule our units.
Some factions had less armour than others.
And feel using the tunic is a big plus. Instead of having killer fantasy units.

Is this a completely new unit set, or are we just updating and refurbishing what we did for RS1.5?

There's some extra units they'll be getting.
They'll still have the original caetrati, scutati, celtiberian spearmen, lancers, slingers, but will have a goodly expanded roster with these extra units (it's all in the finalising unit rosters thread)
Carthage will get amny too which is good seeing that the early focus for Rome will be on the Punic war.
I'll probably also refurbish the original ones slightly at some point.

Here's what I'm doing...
- Boii are almost done, I just need the Celtic light charioteer from tone
- Slave and Free People of Celtic models (halfway through)
- Adaptations of a couple of Celtic units for Cimbri
- Pergamum (initial stages)

Maybe we should open a separate thread for this just to keep thing clear and avoiding confusion.
