    Default Historical Battle: Dara

    Hi.

I wanted to do from a long time ago a historical battle for IBFD. I made the battle of Dara because I really admire Belisarius as one of the best generals of Late Antiquity.
This is my first battle with the BI engine. I hope you like it.

    About the battle:
    - Saddly Belisarius is called Basiliscus because I couldnt find the name Belisarius in IBFD.
    - I scripted the Sassanid army so the AI shouldnt make weird things when you control the Romans.
    - I used Procopius and Goldsworthy for the landscape and units.

Well here is the file for you to download.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/104983376/Dara.zip.html

For installing remember to have IBFD and extract the file to this direction.
    Rome - Total War\ibfd\data\world\maps\battle\custom

    * Well tell me what you think about the battle

I just got your PM mate. The Idea of making this battle is great Only I don't have RTW:BI and thus IBFD installed on my puter So can't try it by my own. I will check it as soon as I installed IBFD

    Regards

I tried out the game and played as the Sassanids, but I found that the Romans just sat there and did nothing. They would only fight if attacked. So I was easily able to roll their flanks and defeat them.

Also, I think the Sassanids and Romans need foot archers as part of their composition. From my memory of this battle their was an exchange of missle fire between the two sides at first of which the Sassanids had the better of for being better archers than the romans.

    Cheers
