While waiting for 6.0...

This remains the best mod for M2 and the only one I play (all hail KK) but I was thinking that - for the sake of interest - it would be fun if the KOJ received all the Knights Templar units for the Late Era campaign. However, playing with the EDB and EDU I cannot get units such as Templar Guard to appear for the KOJ. Worse than that, any attempt to alter this causes the game to crash at the first splash / loading screen (the one with the Teutonic Knights on the right).

Can anyone advicse me why this might be or how to migrate the Templar roster to KOJ? Obviously they already get many of the units but I was hoping to somewhat merge the factions for the the Late Era campaign

KOJ should also get more units from the original crusade campaign for their crusading ally the Principality of the Antioch

More units is a pain IMO as you have to choose out of allot of quality units.

I cannot say that I'm a very patient human being, but knowing that there are many geeks and nerds around here let me overlook the numerous spam topics over the last few days.

But there comes a point were this little patience vanishes into thin air and I must give in that I'm quite near this point.

You can count the topics with serious subjects on one hand and it makes it even harder for these topics to be recognized and answered to. The only good thing is that I know these topics will also vanish in the moment 6.0 got released. For gods sake all you impatient whiners will have better things to do THEN. And I will have my (little) patience back.

What, you say this is not spam? Well maybe, but there are dozens if not hundreds of topics where this subject could have been added to. You guys really remind me at these fans of boygroups... Yes, I just called you (the ones that feel adressed of course) being little girls screaming their brains out of their heads because of nothing! Screaming = posting one silly topic after the other in this case. And brain = not present.

Thanks Godzilla for turning this into another spam thread.

Seeing how this is the only mod that has the Templars as a faction this is the right forum for this thread. He wanted help in merging two factions in the Stainless Steel mod. If this isn't the place for it then where the hell is? :hmmm:

Godzilla if you wanted to post your opinion on the state of this forum since there are so many spam thread you should have picked on of them to add your own spam too.

Lord Marshal, the EDU and the EDB file should be the only ones i can think of that would need to be changed, of course i have only added a few units from one faction to another and as i recall these are the only files i changed. I had help so in doing this so there might be something else to change but nothing i cn think of. Did you back up your files before you changed? I hope so.
Is there anything in the log file that may give you a hint to why it is crashing?

Personally, I have yet to see a post ANYWHERE on these boards about COMPLETELY merging KOJ and the Knights Templar, and this was a PERFECTLY valid place to put this question.

I personally think you just wanted to get up on your little soapbox and whine about how everyone is so immature, and they need to be more cultured, patient and ect., while you fail to practice what you preach by just reading the title and then making your damn rant.

Sorry for not replying earlier, my job means I'm away from home quite a bit.

I don't want to wind anyone up so I'll pipe down after this, but if Y2Day and JMSlayer would not mind me asking them quickly; I d/l the excellent RC/RR 1.5 and now I seem to be able to add units to EDU and EDB without the initial CTD. I moved across the Templar Guard TGA to the Jerusalem folder and the unit is now recruitable with the correct unit card. However, in the description I get the default peasant unit picture and on the battlefield all I see is the captain, the shadows but no Templar Guards men. I'm not sure what file I've missed but evidently I have overlooked something, could you suggest what that might be?

PS there does appear to be a unit add tutorial on TW Center but it seems to deal with pre-packed files and I cannot see which ones they would be in SS :hmmm:

The pre-packed files would have the same names, they'd just have /mods/Stainless_Steel/ after the M2TW folder.

I'm guesssing the bat file stage is unecessary for SS but can someone explain th steps after 8 with the battle_models.modeldb file? I'd like to understand what the text actually did and if this will solve the 'ghost' units I've created in SS 5.1 for KoJ
