    Default Big Problem

Hey people i need help, really.
I can't believe RTR is like this: after the Gaius Marius reform, i cant train any more the slingers!! No catapults? No archers?

    Where did they all go?
I cannot believe this can be called "Total Realism" with no Archers and Catapults.

Did you know that even after the Marian Reform, Triarii, Hastati and Principes were still there?

    Please answer these questions.
I am a big fan of RTW, and a veteran.

I could stand not having any catapults (at first) but when i saw about the archers, i couldn't stand it anymore.

edit: if you wanna make another RTR, please make the AI diplomacy better!
I can't believe i've been allied to the Ptolemaic Empire, giving him 400denarii per turn for 80 turns, and when i ask for help, they don't help me.
    Roman allies ALWAYS helped. ALWAYS.

And please don't say things like "Oh my god man, just play normal RTW!"
Because i love everything of RTR except the unit system!

Diplomacy is hardcoded, that is, nothing to be done, sorry.

As for the units (archers and catapults), please take a look at the FAQ, there is a reason for everything.

P.S. Hastati, Principes and Triarii in the post-Marian legions were just names for the cohorts' positions (1st, 2nd, 3rd line), they didn't actually have the same equipment as before.

I don't think they're true allies, probably more like "client-kingdoms" to romans.

And the "unrealistic" diplomacy is quiet similar to what happened in the Warring State Period in ancient china. It's what you get when every factions intend to conquer the whole world; the goal of RTW campaign makes diplomacy unhistorical.

BTW 400 * 80 is really small you know? I always *support* them with at least 10k (per turn or 2 turns), and sometimes up to 100k. But what I want is not help, but to drain out the population in their cities and their enemy's cities
