    Default new cities (again)

I dont remember if this topic was made on the org or here, but someone posted about a group of modders who managed to create cities in m2tw (months ago). Anyway the OP asked if the EB2 team would use this for EB2, but the idea got rejected with the reason that the cities would look like medieval ones. Lately it has been stated that a negative side of using m2tw for eb is, that the cities still look medieval. Now if I may ask, why won't u guys use the tool anyway if the cities are gonna be medieval styled anyway? At least the important cities could become more realistic formed.

edit: found the link here it is http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...ght=new+cities

If the cities still look medieval why waste time to make something that anyway won't be anywhere near the desired results?
(just my idea but neverthless I don't think they will start to modify cities if a classical look can't be achieved)

they wont be able to achieve the classical look anyway, at least we could get some cities instead that arent just a wall and 1 road going straight to the center.

Believe it or not, there is some progress being made in changing the way cities look and by the time EB2 is closer to release there will be even more progress made.

looks like just an islamic city to me, but lets just say that the normal cities can be turned into classical ones, would this allow the creation of custom cities that are classical as well?

There was a request by modder to CA and there won't be any help. The settlements are made using some third party software or something to that extent so CA can't help.

Isn't it possible to atleast retexture the buildings? adding more red-ish roofs etc.?

Because it's not made by CA, so different copyrights apply. They cannot just hand out the software.

some of the slum areas of Rome looked pretty medieval, but only when it started to grow, and the villages in the Kingdoms Tuetonic campaign look sortof celtic, so maybe you can improvise to some degree?

That would be great, but they can't change the building models.. only the textures. Imagine orange islamic churches being used as barracks :p
