Parthia
Ok, I've tried playing as Parthia a few times now, but I always get backstabbed by either the Seleucids or the Bactrians, as They seem to be the only places I can expand to easily I always seem to end up in the between them and whoevers side I pick backstabs me. Maybe I should use the no landblocks mod?
Anyway, basically they always gang up on me, occasionally along with the Armenians, and I always go done under. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/strategies for succeeding as the Parthians. Only submod that I'm using that I know of is the 4tpy one.

Re: Parthia
Quite simply, Horsearchers. It may be a pain on the campaign map, but Bactria and the Seleucids are both phalanx orientated factions. Pleanty of horsearchers should see you through a war with both of them.

Re: Parthia
charge - withdraw - charge. repeat if necessary.
that means keeping a small (if you cant afford big) stack of HA handy. while assaulting types of troops taking and exterminating cities HA army will destroy any incoming enemy reinforcements. even when greatly outnumbered they do a lot of damage (since mostly confront infantry based armies). once HA ran out of ammo simply withdraw. next attack on strat map will refill your ammo. repeat until enemy destroyed. it usually took me one time depending what the odds are and how good you are at micro-managing HA.
also, dont stop expansion for too long. i remember that the best way to bring down Sels was a blitzkrieg. otherwise they keep coming back. annoying.
and last thing is that RTW AI sucks. dont rely on your allies. you can try force diplomacy mod. it said to help against AI's obsessional-compulsive behavior.
good luck
