    Default foundry

i have noticed that some provinces can build foundries and other provinces cant

is this intentional or is it a bug?

If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), a province must have the iron resource to support a foundry.

Seems that way to me as well. I have several huge cities in my present Greek Cites Campaign but thus far my foundries are limited to regions with the iron resource.

Spot on. Some eligible cities that I've noticed so far (playing as the Seleucids) include Antioch, Athens, Pergamum & Susa.

This is a feature of the mod - foundry only buildable in region with iron resource.

Sorry guys - thought this was common knowledge.

Fix the problem, not the blame!

No problem at all Unknown Soldier. I'm sure that we were all probably used to playing RTW in the old way where a foundry could be built anywhere.

New in the game it would not be noticed until huge cities are showing up and no foundry is available to build. Several turns later it starts to show, several campaigns later it becomes obvious.

This is actually better in that for the superior weapons and armor, we need to concentrate on these Iron Resource areas and put our appropriate "ironworker" temples in them. Thank you.

@Eyebrows - Ecbatana has it too - just what the doctor ordered for the medians.
Other regions that have it include Cydonia, Arretium, Sarmizegetuza, Aemona, Pselchis and so on.
