What do you mean Rome shall never fall - it did, remember, that whole thing with the Barbarians.

Rome falled because they taught that that big empire they had is enough big and they started to disband theyre army thinking that they wont face any more attacks. They had bad generals in that time who feared by the barbarians, even from Attila(romans thinked that huns were monsters and they feared)and barbarians used this in theyr advantage and attacked Rome from all borders. The Estern Roman empire had a strong commander and a strong economy and lived over 1000 years after the Western Roman empire has fallen, they lived until the Turcs comed with a very strong army composed with the best trained trups(the jannisaries)and with the worlds strongest cannons by that time and captured Constantinople.

So Rome has fallen not by the barbarians, but because of theyre mistake.

If they had a strong commander, another Gaius Julius Caesar the Roman empire dose not fallen.
    Sorry for my english.

In my macedonian campaign, the romans were destroyed very early after the marian reforms, by the gauls and the carthaginians. I dont interfered in their conflict, just hold to my interests in southern Italy and Illyria. Carthage took the roman cities in Italy and the gauls stayed in the north. I declared war on Carthage and tried to help the romans (forced diplomacy played its part here, since the romans had declared war on me earlier), giving them money and one or other city I captured in Italy. They were destroyed even with that. Now Carthage have only three cities, only one in Italy (Genoa), and became a protectorate. The deal involved a ceasefire with the gauls and germans. Instead of "panis et circensis" we get greek academies and philosophy, with the coliseums being demolished. Syracuse is at war against Macedonia, and they hold north africa, including Carthage itself. But the power of the sicilian tyrants is crumbling, since I captured Syracuse and more three cities in their rich island. The romans proved to be the best soldiers ever fought, different from the gauls which always deploy those same swordsmen against the phalanxes, so boring and repetitive are those opponents that the spartans prefer to play table games behind the line while the fight happens, out of boredom. And now the almight macedonian phalanxes reached the Baltic, where they now fish on the coast.

The world will never be the same.

So if 'He got sacked' means 'He got fired' would 'sacking' then mean 'firing' as in 'Firing a city.'
Also what Rome did to Carthage could be considered 'barbaric'.

They wanted revenege my friend. Remember it was a different time. After Cannae and like 70,000 romans DEAD you want revenge. Isn't what the romans did now called a Carthaginian peace. Meaning they got peace and the end of the war through total destruction of the enemy.

And this wasn't at the time of proportional response. ie you raid our cities and villages, we come and take over your whole empire!
