Default Trying to Install M2TW, Having Problems, My Bad, Can a Mod Move This Thread

I'm trying to install M2TW on my new rig, but the installation keeps getting stuck on data_0.pack. Then about two seconds later I get this message that says, "Feature transfer error

    Feature: Packs
    Component: packs
    File: D:\main\packs\data_0.packs
Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)."

I don't know what that means. Also before anyone asks, this is a legal copy of M2TW. I bought it at EB games, and it's the limited edition with the History Channel's Crescent and the Cross DVD.

    Salaam,
    Adnan

Cyclic redundancy check shows up when the cd drive laser cannot read the cd, it might be due to scratch or luquid spilled on it, or dirt on the cd. But you said, yours a very new one, so it is not your fault, the cd is not written properly, just take it to the shop and exchange it, there is nothing you can do.
    File: D:\main\packs\data_0.packs
Here, this is the zipped pack to install the game
There are 3 or 4 of them, excluding updates
    So
    File: D:\main\packs\data_0.packs
    File: D:\main\packs\data_1.packs
    File: D:\main\packs\data_3.packs
All the data are in this packs, so if one screws up, its time to get another one, or alternately, you can get a software to retrive data even from scratched and tampered cd.
The best I would suggest you to is, go to the shop and get another copy, save all the hassle.
    Hoped that helped.

    +1rep plz
