"assistance requested against..."??????

after more than 3 years playing rome,today it happened a thing that i seen only on m2tw...i was playing with rome and i was the protector of epirus (after kicking them out of italy,of course! ) and epirus was at war with the macedonian kingdom. well,i landed a legion in north epirus and waited the next turn to see the macedonian's moves. well, epirotes engaged a large macedonian army, and when it was epirus's AI turn, i read this thing of assisting them in battle,even if i was not in the battle zone...
i repeat,i saw this thing only once or twice in m2tw...does it happend also in rtw? and if yes,can you request your allies assistance (in mtw you cant,if i remember right)...

I think this happens because the RS campaign map graphics are from M2TW, not to sure thou......

No it's nothing todo with the graphics. This will happen if you're near an ally that gets itself involved in a battle.

Yes, it is a RTW feature, but I never understood how it works. Bugged, probably.

I had happen fairly regularily in vanilla if I playing as one of the Roman families and happened to be going overland near there armies. Basically you join the battle as their reinforcements. It's funnier when you get asked for help taking a settlement, and they can't do it but you succeed (unfortunately they still get the settlement).

That's always fun. You're the reinforcement and you pretty much get to crush the enemy while those fools can barely hold on.

It should happen automatically if an allied army is next to where you are attacking.

It happened to me in more than one occasion, that when i was attacked by an enemie, and near me was an ally army, they where on the battlefield as reinforcements.

Ahh wow man, thats only happened to me once and it was a naval battle, heh I started to use that to my advantage in Vanilla by following the brutii navy

I always just sit back and let my allies army do the fighting, i just mop up the enemy if there the victor! my allies always double cross me so ive lost my past honourable fighting side by side approach lol
but it is a regular feature of all the tw franchise i thought.

That happened once to me, but I dont remember if it was RTW or M2TW, what I DO remember though that my whole army was massacred and my greatest general killed!!!They requested help naturally I being a good human and an ally agree, next thing I see is Defeat with the aforementioned results.Now that I think of it I think it was on Sicily me being Julii and another roman house...

Happened to me on Gatae campaign ...I was assisting Gaul for two straight battles, lost second and on the turn lost sight of that army. Five turns later Gaul attacks that army. How do you like that???

I love helping allies. Well, not so much helping them, as helping myself. Normally I wait till my allies are standing beside an enemy, and then agress the enemy and my allies have to help me out.
Then, I either hang back and enjoy. Or ram the enemy in the back... over and over until they split in two...
But seriously, I like to take heavy cavalry forces and instigate these sorts of fights and then lend the ai a hand and get an easy win.

I remember in Shogun you could backstab your allies in battle. Great fun! I think you could do it in Medieval too.

Good times indeed.Once i backstabed Uesugi in the midst of a battle against Takeda.Next turn they allied against me and delivered a crushing defeat to my troops.
