    Default No garrison question

On h/vh or vh/vh are enemy settlements easy to take without the garrison script? I find it far far to powerful when taking major settlements, almost crippling so. Right now I'm working on adjusting it to more sensable amounts... average of 5 for great cities and homeland regions with only 1 or 2 "power" units. Remember, this is to represent the peasantry coming to defend so why would they be more 'power' units instead of more peasants and milita units?

How DO you tweak the garrison script?

The campaign script.txt in the campaign folder. Scroll down to the section labeled GARRISON SCRIPT and it's there for you to have fun with. With I think I counted 193 regions... so it's a pretty daunting task.

Thanks, at least I know where to start now!

It's not that I think the script is a bad idea at all, I just have a hard time managing it with the field cost script. I'd prefer to play with either one or the other

I like the idea of the garrison script, it's just to powerful the way Rep has it. Like I said, it should be 90% peasant and militia units and there shouldn't ever be more then half a dozen in the script. Right now the only faction that breaks 5 units is the HRE... their great cities get 7 and their homelands get the standard 5... all of them mostly have militia or peasant equivilant units aswell. Got about 124 regions left to do!

Every settlement has at least 1 unit, capitals are often full garrisoned.
Smaller settlements have mainly less (2-3) units in, but the ai has usually its armies standing outside.

The idea is good, but I think it's too much script for making it a little bit more realistic...
I prefer battles outside and I do not want Medieval II: Total siege.
