cant play kingdoms

will guys i own Medieval total war 2, and my friend gave me his Kingdoms to download on my PC so i can play it and see if i like it.

but whenever i try to start it i get this error message
"Please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000).

Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=copy&c=1000 for further, more detailed information."

how do i fix this?

The message is pretty clear. You friend burned the disc and gave you the burned disc, the only thing is that securom prevents that from working. So either get your friend to give you the original disk or buy it yourself.
