Loading problem

Every time I try to load a campaign in any kingdoms mode it won't let me. After it finishes the intial load it just stays black, I have tryed every campaign, re-installed it, and cleaned the disc

I am running a XP system, the game has worked for 10+ months, suddenly it won't

Is it really sudden? Did anything change with your computer since the last time it worked and the time it didn't work? How long was the period between the two events?

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but it doesn't hurt to try. Perhaps there's something wrong with the map.rwm files. Go to each Kingdoms campaign folder and delete the map.rwm file in the base folder. For example, for the Americas campaign, it should be like C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\americas\data\world\maps\base.

Does the Grand Campaign (Regular old Medieval II) work?

Try a clean install by uninstalling the whole game, delete the Sega folder, then install the regular game and then kingdoms, which installs the patches before install kingdoms and then report back.
