problem with Medieval II total war

it is my first time to try medieval 2 total war and i was so happy to have it as it was my dream game, i installed it and started the game with such a smile on my face and try the tutorial and then , a message told me "please select an item from the list" what the god damn it is that???! grand campaign "please select an item from the list", even the custom game when i arrange every thing and click start it just bring me back to the menu where we choose the functions, what should i do?

That is a strange problem. When I bought M2TW and started to play it, nothing like that appeared. Can you select anything when the text comes? Or does it send you back to windows?

i think i just knew the problem but i am not sure, but it may work, my world files (txt files) like descr_disasters, descr_regions those staff, i open them and i find them unnatural like

Sharing original game files is illegal and will not be permitted at TWC. Try reinstalling the game.

i did reinstall it and it is the same, it seems that the main files are like that , u know from the cd, main\world its files are also apnormal, i used to had rome total war and the txt files had a lot of information like units description and there strength and regions, THATS CRAZY what am i supposed to do

and thats crazy too, this one is imposible to get, as the world folder is more known than the idx files in the sound folder

Did you install the game in English? I'm thinking that you installed it as some foreign language and now your computer isn't able to distinguish its foreign characters. Though my events.idx is gibberish as well as I don't think you're supposed to be able to read those with notepad.

ok every body problem 1 solved, the world thing is done, i know play the game very very well but, no sound as the sound files are weird, i need them, and thats wont be orginal game sharing, it is a simple stupid notebad 6 files, it is tiny sized that means nothing, or if u dont want to get the to the web u can just copy the words in it and past them into a reply, and help the poor guyz like me , u can be super man plz help me plz plz plz plz plz , my life is in ur hands. u do as u wish, and i promise i will do any thing u want in the formus, and i will help every one comes here with a problem

Okay, for question 3, I am asking the order you installed the game including patches. By your answers, you should have installed the game from the disc, then install the 1.2 patch and then the 1.3 patch. Is this what you did?

Okay, lets try something. No one will send you those files because its illegal. Now through the control panel, uninstall the game. Then delete the folder you installed it from. In this case K:/Medieval II Total War. Next, reinstall the game. Then download the 1.2 patch here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_19011.shtml

Then download the 1.3 patch here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_20881.shtml

Then play the game.

The patches will probably replace those files, but I think you have bigger issues with the game and need to reinstall completely. Mounted units stay mounted.

great, i am now downloading the first patch, it will likely finish 3 hours from the moment, man while i was playing i felt like being deaf u should try that.

in custom game there are units there names has "dismounted ----" they probably some sort of knights or horse man without there horses, how the became that dude?!


and, if sharing files was illegal. why the patchs or not ?! don't they have game files, man that a complicated connections

why dont we make those text files in a .rar or .zip and call them patch 1.4?!!!!!
