Directx and .net framework
This problem is annoying, and help as fast as possible would be appreciated. I have a user account on my family PC without admin powers. When I put the Gold edition of Medieval 2 in, I clicked install e.t.c but it never prompted me to get my admin to put in the password, which it usually does. The vanilla Medieval 2 went fine, until the end when an error box popped up saying the .net framework couldnt install or something, with the only option being to click 'ok'. Straight after, the same was said about DirectX. Whenever I try and start the game it says "this application has failed to start because d3dx9_30.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
System specs are:
Machine name: STUART-PC
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071009-1548)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: DIXONSXP
System Model: MS-7357
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 1032MB used, 3283MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode
Is it as simple as getting my admin (dad) to go on his profile with admin powers and install it, since it wont try and restrict him?
Thanks in advance

Re: Directx and .net framework
This game does require directx9 and Vista only knows directx10 and not backward compatible. You will need your dad to give you admin rights of which he can or install it and the .net framework for you.
