Expand the National Parks
Many things have gotten a lot worse in America during the past few years. This is especially true for the Nation Park Service. Attendance and funding have both decreased. This is definitely not a good thing because the economies of many areas depend on the national parks. There are a few reasons the National Park should be expanded:
1) Help local economies: National Parks draw in millions of visitors each year. Those visitors spend millions of dollars themselves. That money is used to help keep many rural communities alive. Areas such as the Delaware River Valley(NY+PA) depend on the tourist money brought in from the National Park Unit there. Without it most local businesses would go bankrupt. This goes for many areas across the country.
2) Improve World Image: Its a fact that Americans are not doing good things for the environment and this makes us look like
s across the world. The expansion of the National Parks would show the world that Americans are not selfish pigs and that America is a beautiful country. The publicity from the expansion of National Parks would draw in many foreigners whose opinion of America may become positive.
3) Encourage Domestic Travel: Ever since the dollar has been losing value many Americans simply do not know where to travel to. More National Parks might encourage Americans to travel around the country instead of staying home. When they go to National Park many Americans may notice that travling domestically is actually fun.
4) Tax money: The amount of taxes brought in from the expansion of National Parks would be huge. This might help the government get out of debt.

Re: Expand the National Parks
Just make the budget bigger. The facilities in some of these places are woefully outdated. I'm all for expanding, though, but them good places.

Re: Expand the National Parks
#2 wont be impacted since we already have close to 400 national parks in the country and it doesnt address the actual environmental problem. Not discounting the merit of what you are saying just that there are more pressing things and things that will actually help that rank higher.
