How is it that a faction can afford to keep the same sized army when their income is less than a third of what it was originally? Portugal had a huge army and after i took their capital they went from rich to broke in ten turns yet they still have the same size army (aside from the ones i killed carving my way to the capital) as they had before. How come they haven't disbanded most of the army? You know, to afford things like food. They have negative money. When I was playing as Denmark the Norwegians lost Iceland (their only remaining province) to rebels due to massive long term debt. A debt they could have prevented by getting rid of their huge army. They at least could have made a blind charge for Ireland but they just sat there and starved to death. The hell's up with that?

its not iceland but greenland and they always lose it. the ai just never disbands troops, if they would have got the option they would probably not be able to handle it, btw being in red means that u are loaning money so they are able to buy food and stuff.

I checked their finances, they went from 30000 or 40000 thousand to nothing. The upkeep was 3 or 4 times what they made each turn so they went bankrupt quickly. As for the Norwegians they didn't loose Greenland in the beginning they kept it for a good while. After they lost the land north of Denmark it was all they had left.

Its annoying as hell that bugging the player is a higher priority than self preservation. Starving out the enemy is a legitimate strategy.
