    Default Imperial Campaign Error Message

So i modded the bejesus out of my 1.2 Med2TW and played SS 5.1 and Broken Cresent extensively.

I wanted to start a vanilla campaign though as portugal though on the back of speaking to a friend about the economic value of the iberian pensinsula with upgraded ports and trade throughout the Mediterranean, but anyways.

I didnt have all factions unlocked on the select screen so i went to my descr_strat or whatever it is called and changed all unlockable factions to playable and saved it.

Then returning to game, when pressing Imperial Campaign i get a "Please select an item from the list" error message.

Im wondering if there is a fix for this without reinstalling the game, and maybe messing up my mod installations.

when is the last time you played vanilla post modifications? Do any of the factions load up properly?

The problem is, i click campaign game on the initial main menu, then click "Imperial Campaign" and it doesn't load up the faction select screen, i instead get the error message i described above.

The last time it worked post modification was the SECOND before i changed the descr_strat file, as this was when i realised i did not have the Ports unlocked to play as.

Well, can you post exactly what you changed in the descr_strat file? Perhaps you did something wrong.

When you made your changes, did you delete your map.rwm and start a new campaign?

All i did was move the faction names:

    sicily
    milan
    scotland
    byzantium
    russia
    moors
    turks
    egypt
    denmark
    portugal
    poland
    hungary

    From between "Unlockable
    End"
    to between "Playable
    End"

The start of my file now looks like this:

co; Custom campaign script generated by Romans Campaign Map Editor

    campaign imperial_campaign
    playable
    england
    france
    hre
    spain
    venice
    sicily
    milan
    scotland
    byzantium
    russia
    moors
    turks
    egypt
    denmark
    portugal
    poland
    hungary

    end
    unlockable

    end
    nonplayable
    papal_states
    aztecs
    mongols
    timurids
    slave
    end

    start_date 1080 summer
    end_date 1530 winter
    timescale 2.00

I had my Med2TW patched to 1.2 before i installed any of my Mod's, or changed my descr_strat, and i never deleted my map.rwm

If you were to revert your descr_start back to what it originally was, does the game work?

Also, in my descr_strat file, there is no space between the last faction's name and the end command. See if you deleting that little line of space works.

So instead of what you have, I would have:

    campaign imperial_campaign
    playable
    england
    france
    hre
    spain
    venice
    sicily
    milan
    scotland
    byzantium
    russia
    moors
    turks
    egypt
    denmark
    portugal
    poland
    hungary
    end
    unlockable
    end
    nonplayable
    papal_states
    aztecs
    mongols
    timurids
    slave
    end

Just change it back if you have problems, though most people don't have a problem with it.
