Jerky Battles?!

Okay, hello total war community. I'm just passing through to ask you a quick question.

My computer is FAST! VERY, VERY FAST!

It easily meets/exceeds the recommended system requirements. Furthermore, the main menu, cinematics and campain map work really floorlessly, with top graphics! So why would any battle, from a fewuntis to a seige, be slow and jerky?

I have the Kingdoms Expansion Pack and Vista Home Premium!

Sieges will slow any computer down, post your specs of your rig and the resolution of the game and the video settings of the game

Like the others have said, post your system specifications. Just saying it's a very good rig doesn't mean it's very good. Those that do say it's very good may actually not know that their computer is outdated or not as good as they thought.

Note that the campaign map, the main menu, and the cinematics do not tax yoru system that much. A very bad computer can even play those somewhat flawlessly. It's really the battles that absolutely destroy your computer in terms of spec requirements. Turn off shadows, definitely. See if your drivers are updated all the way.

Here is my rig and on high all settings on a 32" LCD TV:

AMD Athlon X2 6000
3 GB DDR800 RAM
Nvidia 7900GT

And I do lag on huge siege battles. Try lowering some settings and turning off bloom and reflections.
