Beta Installation Problem
I usually have problems installing mods, the only mods I was able to play successfully were RS and XGM. Anyway, so I made a copy of my clean RTW folder and then installed RM from Filefront. After that, I tried running the mod with my RTW copy folder but when the game launches, I get vanilla, not the mod. So how can I get RM to replace the copy of RTW?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Beta Installation Problem
Hi ran,you installed the Mod in the wrong place that is the problem, you have to install the mod in your game directory, after that, run RomeMedieval from its shortcut.
try that and tell me,i hope it works.

Re: Beta Installation Problem
I'll try one more time:
I installed the game on my local disk (C:), but I see 4 folders on RomeMedievalMod, not two.

Re: Beta Installation Problem
i had a similar problem to you Ran just copy and past all your files that you got with the download into the creative assembely folder. Then right click your shortcut and cilck propeties and write and the end of it. -MOD:Rome:medieval or whatever the file name is called that has Rome medieval files in it. then click on the shortcut and enjoy!

Re: Beta Installation Problem
Thanks alot shootie,i hope that works with him too,the folder name is RomeMedievalMod so you have to add this in the shortcut's target line:
-mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err

This message?

i supose yes, that is a known problem,RM2 files are not in their right place, shootie had this problem but now its working with him, where do you have RomeMedievalMod (folder)? it must be in your Rome Total War (folder).if no,you have to copy the two RM2 folders and paste then in Rome Total War (folder).

Re: Beta Installation Problem
I did, they're in the original RTW folder, but I do have a copy, should I delete that one? Also, that's the message that appears. I'm sure it's in the right place, but there seems to be a problem with the descr_engine file.

Re: Beta Installation Problem
No,the descr_engine file is working perfectly,as i said,RM2 files are not in the right place.
go to : RomeMedievalMOD\Data\animations\engine\ballista and see if there is Ballista_idle.CAS file or not,if yes, that means RomeMedievalMod folder is in the wrong place.
Rome Total War folder must be like this: (you must have these folders (in green)).

Re: Beta Installation Problem
I have the gold edition, does that make a difference? Also, the RM shortcut you circled isn't on my folder.

Re: Beta Installation Problem
with the gold edition, you have to but RM folders in Rome Total War folder in creative assembely folder (simple).
go to : RomeMedievalMOD\Data\animations\engine\ballista and see if there is Ballista_idle.CAS file or not.
Good Luck!
