Default The Saka vs Rebel Wovles

Is anyone else getting mauled by rebel wolves or is it just me. They chase me all over creation and since I can't replish my forces, fighting them is campain suicide. Oh Ya... each wolf seems to be loaded with Melee cav.

    Playing on M/M

Matter of fact after initialy leaving the capital they kept my susequent FMs bottled up in the province, denying me desparately
needed reinforcements. After a while gaining six cities with no reinforcement killed my campain. The cities were donated mainly by the Bactrians and I had to abandon one when i lost sight of the main Bactrian stack. it went "to ground" and even lifting FOW I could'nt find it.

Actually, playing as the Bactrians, those rebels up there kept me pretty busy for the first five years. I remember that they attacked several of my cities and even reinforced themselves by combining stacks... In fact they launched an offensive that destroyed my field army after they attacked and captured one of my cities. I refered to those rebels as the "lesser Saka", but things would not have been so bad had not the Saka, Parthians, and Selucids all attacked me after my army was destroyed by.... Rebels! '
I had to restart that campaign and make some changes in my startup strategy. I built forts at all of the river crossings and in the narrow valleys, and then I campaigned aggressively against the Rebels for the first five years so that they would no longer be a problem. That meant that I was not over extended by my early conquests and facing destruction at the hands of my carrion eating neighbors. Unfortunately, Saka has a much worse Economy than Bactria, so you might have to launch a conquering campaign immediately. All I can say, is that those particular rebels in the Northeast corner of the map are unusually aggressive... they just don't hang out in their own province like the other rebels do, but instead they try to go off and conquer their own empire...

Probablly very hard. In my Baktrian campaign(hard) there are a lot of strong rebel stacks around, but they never attacked one of my cities.

Same here. They just annoy the hell out of you by attacking watch towers!

Hard campaign setting... I had my two northernmost cities attacked by rebels in the same turn... One was attacked by a small 4 unit stack that was easily beaten off, but the other city had only a few units and a client ruler in it. There is a large rebel stack that hangs out at the entrance to the Tarim basin and they decided to attack my other northern town. I had left a medium sized rebel stack outside of the town unmolested, because they were doing me the favor of guarding that valley from a Saka incursion. Then this 3/4 rebel stack comes down that same valley (I guess they got bored up northeast) and combines with the local rebels to attack my town and client ruler. They captured it the next turn, and sent a Full stack of Rebels deep into my remaining provinces. I was able to defeat them with my field army, but it was so battered that that I was unable to recapture my town afterwards. Then Saka, Parthia, and Selukia began sending larger and larger armies at me every turn. By 262, I was reduced to only one two bit city (Kophen). I restarted the campaign, and then took out that medium stack of rebels right off. I also built a watchtower up at the other end of the valley, and when that big full stack got bored, they sat on the watchtower instead of attacking my cities. So... Build watchtowers if you can, as that might draw the rebels attention anyway... Shame to say, not VH at all, in fact I really thought of turning the difficulty down to medium in the next game. Its better to learn from your mistakes though, and my restart made for one of the best games i've ever played... and not finished yet....
