Earthquakes make me cry

I've been playing as the Bactrians for some time now, and it seems every time I assemble a large force an earthquake comes and wipes out half of them. Damn Hindu Kush. Are earthquakes tied to army movement or am I just incredibly unlucky? Three times now I've had an army rendered useless. I'm suprised my generals aren't picking up 'cursed' traits, because I certainly am.

I had about three earthquakes in my Baktrian campaign so far, but I was always lucky my army was somewhere else at the moment. You just have bad luck, I guess.

Now *that* would bring about a whole new meaning to "The earth shall tremble at our wake" wouldn't it?


Come to think of it, Earthquakes should have little impact on armies on the move, unless they are going through a mountain pass or something... If not, what's the worst that could happen, maybe their field barracks' linen covering crumbles upon their sorry heads?

"oh n0ez! who turned off teh lightz?", screams the brave strategos, bumping around the camp, his body covered in a large white piece of fabric as though he was a halloween-ghost-costumed prepubescent who forgot to carve holes for the eyes.

come to think of it, that could be devastating to army morale and cause mass routing and desertion :hmmm:

There is a fix that makes it so Earthquakes are not so devastating... I myself lost three family members to one in my Bactria campaign, including my well groomed faction heir.... Check the quick fix section if they are too much of a problem...

The fix tones down earthquakes so they won't create ghost armies, but don't expect to get off lightly. I once saw four somewhat battered unit being reduced to only a few dozen men by a single quake.

My solution so far has been to stay away from Gava-Hao-something, since I've had four earthquakes there so far. Getting out of the Hindu Kush is looking more and more attractive, too . . .
