~ button does not work

For some unknown reason whenever i try to open the romeshell the ~ button does not work. I have tried all variations of this button and have hit every other button on my keyboard to try and open it. PLEASE HELP ME! (I have a wireless keyboard, but everything works fine on it). My guess is that since my computer is far newer than R:TW or BI:TW that it doesn't respond to my ~ button.

@OP: have tried the " ' " key? Often on the same key as the " @ " sign?

The ` key is what works for me, it's the one below the Esc key and next to 1.

Just randomly press every button you have on your keyboard. Either you'll discover it sooner or later, or you just can't use the console with that keyboard, which may be a good thing as the urge to cheat and then doing it might make your games feel boring.

[Summitz]

` is the key for RTW shell, left to the numberpad 1 and over the tab key. If however you are using a wireless keyboard, it wont open at all.
