    Default N:TW 2 version 1.0 Bugs Thread

    Thank you Meg and the other moders, Hoko, BrainDeadColonel, Badger for this really great release. All those new fantastic maps, like the Pyramids and all the new buildings are just amazing. Both new factions are really great modeled even if i have a small personal preference for the Swedish style :p .

    I've tested a lot the new patch today in SP and MP and have some small remarks to emit that could be may be arranged in a small update along with the upcoming map pack.

    Unit cost Adjustments:

    -It seems ok to lower generally all line units to 350, especially if you have higher artillery costs but in this case you should think of lowering the Russian line infantry along with the ottomans to make them cheaper then French line for example. It just doesn't seem right.
    One of the advantages of Russia was to be able to field a lot of cheap troops, which is pretty much historically correct. Now the Russian line costs the same as the French, which doesn't make any sense to me. So you should think of lowering the Russian line to 300 and leave the other at 350. Or get them all back as it was, 350 for Russians and turks lets say, 400 for fra, aus, pruss, dutch/belg etc.. and 450 for brits.

    -Also you can't have Opolchenie units sharing the same cost (250) as the French national guard. It is totally unjustified in my humble opinion.

    -French Young Guard should stay at 800 and not 750, 900 for Middle guard is right and 1200 for Old Guard units seems fine too.

    -You will soon get complains of people with Grenadiers à Cheval spam armys.
    I really want to emphasis on the fact that this unit should stay at a 1000 florins or in the worst case at 900 florins.

    -Generally lancers costs down is fine.

    -Artillery costs up is fine too even if 800 florins for 12ers for some factions is may be a bit to high.


    The maps that should be changed or removed are:


    -Neutral Ground (you can't drag and drop artillery on the map when game starts)

    -"Pont de Lodi - 1796" map has to be replaced by the newer version i gave you and BDC. (map makes ntw2 crash on screen loading in 3vs3 because of wrong deployment set up)

    -"1815 - Ligny" map when you select it, has the map preview screen of another map called "Attrition" and it also crashes on game loading

    -There are actually 2 Quatre Bras maps, one is called "1815 - Quatre Bras" and another signed Badger that is called "Quatre Bras"


    Also on another topic, you still have the Portugal expansion pack hosted in the download section of the Lordz website which already confused some new players on to what they have to download and what not. You should imo remove it to avoid further problems.

    Is a small update possible ? And what do you people think of it ?

    Thanks again for the Greatest Mod for RTW, imo.

    I would also like to thank the modding communitfy for NTW 2.

    However, I have noticed awkward things about some units. For instance, Sweden's guard unit has a wierd hat (the top of the helmet is placed at an angle). Also, the Ottomans' general unit has an awkward robe (it looks as though the unit is on a horse). These designs may have been intended, but who knows? They might have been mistakes...

    They aren't mistakes. The hat is supposed to be like that, and the robe is such since the general is not supposed to go on foot.
