Just finished my last campaign, but who should I play as now?

Hello.

I just finished playing my last campaign as England.

I held some 51 provinces and played till about the year 1450. I learned thet taking America sucked and was an overkill for the Aztecs with my full army of Knights Hospitaller (sorryif i Mispelled it) and that Poland and Hungary can become EXTREMELY strong if you don;t wach out.

Probably the funnest part was actually managing to control the college of cardinals. I mean the WHOLE college (this was of ourse done by making a god forsaken amount of priests and assassinating the other college members) so that meant no more Papal elections and crusades wherever I wanted.






Aside from all that I am ready to begin anew.

I want you recomendations on ehat factions to play as now and why.

I already played (so far) as England, The HRE, and France.

PS: I am not going to be intersted in taking America in this new campaign and am hoping to make this new campaing as ACTION PACKED AND CHALLENGING AS POSSIBLE!!!

Byzantine puts up a good challenge, Jihads and/or Crusades are going to hit you hard, Venice and Sicily will go for your mainland, Egypt and the Turks are annoying neighbours and your so called orthodox friends are nothing but a bunch of loosers or traitors.

Denmark. Heavy infantry and Viking style game, if you dont keep the provinces after looting you will get an interesting game with lots of mad people around you

Egypt, just take Jerusalem and wait

Moors, bord a ship, take Rome, and wait

Scotland, they wear skirts in winter, how hard can it possible get?!

Try either the Byzantines, as already stated or try the Turks both are interesting and fun to play as.

I'd download a mod that adds new factions like SS or DLV cause once u played one european faction u already played them all.

The Turks. Musketeers, Janissary Heavy Infantry, and Elephant mercenaries. The Mongols and Timurids will keep you busy in between crusades.

If not the Turks, Spain. Musketeers, tercios and Knights of Santiago. Send small, highly-equipped armies east to pick fights with huge armies of non-Christians. The medieval Spanish loved to die for the Faith. Why not oblige them?

Start with a rubbish roster, end with gunpowder. BOOM BOOM BOOM!

All italian factions are fun to play with loads of action

If you want to play as Catholic, then I would suggest one of the Italian factions (Venice, Milan, Sicily) as a distinct change. Or play France or the HRE if you want a new game sort of like England but with stronger cavalry (and weaker archery).

If you want a different religion (do not have to put up with a Pope), Byzantium or Russia are orthodox. Both are significantly different from England militarily. I am playing Byzantium now, and enjoying it.

If you do not want to put up with the Pope AND want to be able to call jihads (lots of fun), then play a muslim faction like the Moors or the Turks. I played the Moors, and enjoyed it; and have heard the Turks are a little more challenging.

Portugal are better than Spain IMO. Their pikes are better, their musketeers are better and they have DPK.
