    Default Removing some banners

What I would like to know how to do is remove all those mini banners that makes zooming in a nightmare. I do know how to remove banners entirely, but that is not my goal, I already tried it and it leaves me with pressing the "flash ally and enemy units" button all the time. I simply want to remove the mini banners. How is this possible?
It's redundant to write your username at the end of your post,
if I wanted to see your name I'd look to the left of my screen.

Just don't add any upgrades to your units. When your units don't have any upgrades, they won't have any mini banners. (guess that won't help much)

banners are all or none. as stated earlier you could just not upgrade your units but that would be hard because not only do you upgrade in cities and castles with buildings but also during the course of battles

Despite the comments in this thread, it's actually very simple.

You can use alpha channel to make any banners that you don't want to see invisible:

    Convert the banners to .dds.
Open then up and switch to the alpha channel.
Make the right half of the alpha channel black (transparent).
Save the file, convert it back to .texture

One other option is to convert the banners .mesh file to .ms3d, open it in ms3d, and then delete out any of the banners you dont like.

    Cheers

would the game crash if you just removed the files altogether? (maybe a dumb question but it sounds much simpler)

I think removing the files would result in vanilla banners.
