Why cavalry has low charge ?
Hi all..
I just installed this nice mod(btw thanks for this brillant mod
), but seen that cavalry has very low charge values. For example, Sasanid heavy cavalry(cant remember the exact name) has just 4 points of charge, Heaviest ones have 12 points. Even elephants charge is too low..imo.
AFAIK,Sasanid cavalry are meant to use for their charge, to batter the enemy line and broke the formation of enemy..but with this charge values they just 'touch' enemy infantry and just park there..is it supposed to be like this..?
Btw, I am playing IBFD 7.03.
Thanks in advance

Re: Why cavalry has low charge ?
unfortunately 7.03 has some problems, one of those is that charge values are displayed incorrectly for javelins- and bow-armed units, because the game displays the charge value of the primary weapon (regardless if it's a missile or melee one) but uses anyway the value of the primary melee weapon.
example: sassanid heavy cav has a displayed charge value of 4 because that is the value associated with the primary weapon (the bow), but in pratice uses the value of the lance (12). Many cavalry units also have the the power_charge attribute, that extendes the time when a unit is considered charging, and thus get the charge bonus.
In addition I may add that the unstable 7.05 version introduced new stats for cavalry, with generally lower attack but much higher charge than the values of 7.03. I'm also currently customizing a lot of things and among the others I've fixed the "displayed charge value" problem and introduced a new system for cavalry more in line with the 7.05 one...if everything goes well I may release a minimod with these changes sooner or later
