    Default 77 BC marian reforms?

is there supposed to be a marian reforms effect triggered in 77bc? i noticed in the edb that in order for Armenia to recruit their legionnaires it is required. i was just wondering around what time this is supposed to happen as rome obviously is using legionnaires already.

Well, we changed the the actual "Marian Reforms" event to something like "The Res Publica expands", enabling the recruitment of immitation legionaries by some factions (Pontus already has them from the start, IIRC) and the recruitment of legions by Rome in some settlements outside Italy.

That said, again if I remember correctly, in beta-testing reports the AI tended to build the Imperial Palace in Italy, therefore enabling the Reforms, around 70-65 BC.

You are right. As Caesar's faction never really worked well, I am adding this new faction. Guesses are welcome

New faction to replace Caesar's? It is very strange:hmmm: 58 BC without Caesar?

Not in 58BC, but in 77BC. Perhaps we should start to make the names of mods more varied in order to avoid confussions

Perhaps you could still script in Caesar, and even have him conquer Gaul. It was only the fact that he couldn't have a second consulship, standing in absentia, that made him march on Rome.

Well, I have considered re-adding Caesar to the game. For the moment, I haven't decided yet whether to have him from the start or make him spawn in 58BC, which would be a dangerous affair as he might not appear due to the limitations of the engine :hmmm:

I suggest no Caesar, since that is covered in 58 BC.

Think of it, we are trying to change history as we play, what if we reach such a pinnacle of greatness that Caesar doesn't want to rebel :p

I suggest making him a lesser general off in Asia Minor, or in Italy.

As for a new faction, I'm assuming someone north of the Po, since there are few Barbarians.

That was the idea. To give Caesar to the player so that he can recreate his campaign in Gaul, but with no Civil War.

Concerning the new faction, north of the Po is a good guess

Civil war - this is most intresting moment: romans legions against another roman legions.
    I want Civil war!

    Didn't you have enough with 58BC ?

Well, when we get our new map, you are going to have a lot of Civil War with Marius vs. Sulla
