    what happens if you are playing as the seleucids and you defeat rome before the marian reform,do you get the legionarres or not

    Imitiation legionaires only become avialable if Rome achieved its Marian Reform. That's the only condition.

    I haven't tried it, but I think the reforms might happen if the Independent Greeks or the Roman Rebels build a huge city in Italy. If you accidentally kill off the Romans too early you could try giving a city to the Greeks.

    I don't think the Indie Greeks can trigger the reforms*, but the Roman Rebels should be able.

    *Since their culture is no longer Roman.

    I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that the trigger depends on the "romans_" prefix in the internal faction name, rather than the culture.

    Ok, I thought it was tied to the culture, but that can be useful. I think EB might use it that way; the Seleucids and Romans have their internal names switched.
