I am new to MTW2, but not to the series.
I was wondering if most people play with the option on or off for requiring govenors to control cites, etc.
I don't want to develop bad habits....
Thanks,

I always play with manage all on. I don't know if this makes the game easier or not, but I'm sure most people do the same.
After I found Milan full with ballistas, catapults, heretics and a public teetering on the brink of rebellion. I put everything on "manage all".
Strange things happen after 10 turns.![]()

it depends on your playing style i guess
i set the option to off just for convenience, cuz i dont want to manually recruit units and build buidlings when i have a 30+ province empire

I play with the default, which i believe is manage everything. I don't trust the AI to make any good desicions for me.
I play with it off, but that may change as I get more familiar with the game.
Ha, trust the AI with recruitment and economics ... no way !
If you maually control your cities it gives you more to do in the game and gives you more refined control of your empire on a whole.
But what ever floats your boat![]()
I play with it offi like to manually manage my empire.
By any chance, is the Sharpe in your name from the Sharpe novels by Bernard Cornwell?
Richard Sharpe all the way. yes the name is from the Bernard Cornwell novels.![]()
I would advice you to turn that option on, because the AI will just spend all the money you have and leave you broke.
I build and recruit everything myself. The auto-manage function is far too crude, you can't designate one city as the priest training hub etc.
There's only 1 way to play...
You manage everything. Otherwise, what's the point?
It's like manually fighting the battles, but having all the units put under AI control and just watching.
Always, ALWAYS manage all option off, and manage all manually! Even if you rule over 50 provinces.
Otherwise you'll have a trade-profile city in the safe zone (thousands of kilometres from war zone) building siege workshops and ballistas. Excuse me?
Always managing all provinces here. The default option (where you can manage cities only if you have a family member or general within the city) is lacking a lot.
To build an empire needs a solid plan, that the AI always refuses to follow.
I always use manage all.
I expand slowly, and usually call it a game before I expand tooooo big, so its never been too tedious to manage all settlements for me.
Yeah, I only ever expand to about 35 provinces before i try out a new faction, thinking i'll get back to the save later.
I love how i pointed out his name. xD
