    Default speed up melee

    is there a way to speed up the animation of melee combat or the actual fighting itself but only for melee battle? I like it better at 2x speed, but everything besides the melee fighting becomes too fast. Can i modify this somehow?

    Not really make animation faster but I made the melee-hit rate up. So soldier won't stumble after they been stab like 20 times.

    find the battle_config.xml in your SS folder.
    Edit the melee-hit rate to like 5.7 I think.
    That's how I set mine up, I'm happy with that setup.

    edit: actually it IS alot better, what exactly did that change? The rate at wich they swing?

    Awesome tip, im finally rid of those achingly long infantry skirmishes where they take forever to die sometimes.

    Someone should sticky this in the same FAQ as the "banner removal" and "green arrow removal" i think.

    Nice info, I did not know this! A hit-rate of 5.0 is a bit too fast for my taste, I set it to 2.5.

    Keep in mind, heavy unit such as:
    Pikeman,
    two-handed,
    or elephant troop
    will devastate your unit more easy.

    Just set it till it fit your need like wonkurben did.

    Lol this is awesome, the hit rate should definatley increased in 6.0

    I tried it just then on 5.7 and wow! Much better, hated all the interuptions of attacks but now I see ALOT more combo's being pulled,

    I really like to watch the battles now You indeed see a lot more fatality moves.

    lol not when they have pikemen or two-handed.
    They rip apart my standard infantry in a few min.
    So no time to watch battle

    This is why I find 5.7 a tat too high for my tastes. at 2.5 it seems a little bit more "balanced". I actually like it that swordsmen tare apart my spear men.

    With my rig, I play at large/huge setting. So its balance for me.
    I almost never watch, I constantly tell unit to move or flank.
    No time to do so unless I save the reply. Trust me its worth it.

    Just noticed that General's bodyguard get's litterally pwnted alot more while adding to the mele hit rate,

    Makes it more realistic though ^_^ No more invinci horses
