Default I just purchased the Gold edition and have a question

If I install MTWII and then Kingdoms, I can access all of the original content, maps, etc. as well as the Kingdoms additions, correct? Kingdoms is a "add-on" or "expansion", not a "replace some of the original"?

And does anyone know if I will need any of the patches?

I've already been reading up on the mods.

I am finally moving on from RTM. I re-purchased the TW-Eras even though I owned all of the stuff, just to place my monetary vote for the series.

I still think the Gold version of Shogun is my favorite, in a number of ways. But perhaps that is just because it was the first.

    Thanks for your help.

If you have the gold edition, you should have the latest patches available. And yes, Kingdoms is just an expansion. It should not change any of the files of the original game.

    Thanks much.

Should I consider installing the Ultimate AI mod, or it it a moot point for the gold edition?

    Thanks,

You should get it if you want to. It will improve upon the regular vanilla AI.

I think the most improvement with AI your going to get is :

AI rush player army even if you kill yourself doing it. :hmmm:

Atleast vanilla AI let's you actually use your artillery, It's like man there's a flamming missile headed right for you '' yeah but im programmed to stay here until it hits me ''

Haha yeah i can't believe they actually did that, its crazy they just stand there like stunned mullets waiting for a return of fire. It makes one think, if rules of war were different back then would it have changed the outcome of the war.

That way it woulden't be governed by the number of legions you had but the strategy you used.

The gold edition is upto date with the lastest patches and bug fixes already installed in it. It is just named gold cuz it is worth like gold, where you get everything instead of going to different places to get the different M2TW and Kingdoms expanions, you can get everything here in only one package.

I have the gold version and have done a complete install of both MTW2 and Kingdoms. When I play MTW2 it says I am at version 1.2 (or 1.02 I can't remember). Do I need the 1.3 patch?

    Thanks

    MTW 2 Gold is 1.02.

It does not have the 1.2 or 1.3 patches, but I have no idea how 1.02 translates in the gold edition to the the originals...so maybe 1.02 gold IS 1.3?

    Anyone know?

A fully patched vanilla is 1.02. You can patch it up to 1.03 but that is only to make it compatible with Kingdoms during multi player games. Kingdoms is 1.04 an can be patched to 1.05.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

    Okay...

So the numbering is a little wonky.

    Medieval Total War 2 Gold

Medieval is fully patched to 1.3. However, in game, when you click on Options you'll see Version 1.02 listed. Ignore this. I just downloaded the patches and they said everything was updated to 1.03.

Kingdoms, however, can still be patched. Here is the link to that patch: http://files.filefront.com/Total+War.../fileinfo.html

I hope that straightens it out. I'm going to add some keywords into this post so people can more easily find it if they are searching.

    Hi

I dont know if this is the correct thread,But couldnt find anywhere else to post it.

I have been trying to buy Medieval 2 total war for a long time. I am in India. None of the stores I have tried is having the game. They have Rome TW Gold Edition (already bought) and Medieval TW but not Medieval 2 TW. Can any one suggest any store in India, where I can buy the Game ?
