    Default Worth buying MTW II?

I'm thinking of buying it, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

Is the game so littered with bugs that it is unplayable?

the vanilla is, but you can easily install basic mods you find here, Retrofit+grandunit addon+Battle and campaign AI and make it very much better than vanilla, so i say you: Buy it!!
30BC: Ottaviano Augusto becomes the first Imperator, in his 44 years of principate he will bring to the empire peace and prosperity!
70AD: Vespasiano is the winner of first great empire's civil war, rebuilding Roman world after the Nero's dark ages.
98AD: Traiano becomes imperator after that the senateman Nerva adopted him,he will start a gold age for the empire getting it to biggest extension!! 117AD-180AD Adriano,Antonino Pio and Marco Aurelio administrate the empire during his richest and most pacific period, with their good administration Rome lives its golden age.
193AD: Settimio Severo wins the civil war started after the death of Commodo starting the Severan dinasty, his heirs will not be as good as him. 252-285AD Rome lives the peak of III century's crisis, onli the emperor Aureliano will be able to reunite the empire breacked in 3 parts and the great reformer Diocleziano will give to Rome militar, politic and social cohesion after decades of caos. 325AD:Costantino rules alone over the empire and christianity is for the first time accepted by the imperial government.

Agree's... I never liked turn based games until i played Mtw-2, When i first played it i was like why are there giant people walking around this map, and where is the battle screen and went around killing anything that moved.

But soon after i actually enjoy the turn based gameplay more than the realtime battle map.

Definetly worth buying and will give you hundreds if not thousands of hours of micro-management hell... Ahhh i mean FUN !!

    Hey,

I never really gave the years/turn much thought, i just thought to myself the quicker time moves on the quicker i get my hands on more technologicallly advanced buildings/units.

But i might try 0.5 in the near future.

It's worth buying. The newest mods are for MTW2 and Kingdoms so I would recommend getting it, if just for the mods.

You are only now thinking of buying this game but you have already made 4,512 posts to this forum?

Dude, if you have not made that purchase after all that discussion you never will.

I believe in doing my homework before buying a game but you take it to another level. Perhaps the game will be a small interlude between you and the forum.

    I totally recomend it
There are two kinds of officers, sir: killin' officers and murderin' officers. Killin' officers are poor old buggers that get you killed by mistake.

Murderin' officers are mad, bad, old buggers that get you killed on purpose - for a country, for a religion, maybe even for a flag!

I don't know where you got the notion that it was so littered with bugs that it was unplayable. Get the gold pack with kingdoms and it is perfectly fine, even better with a small retrofit mod, or even a bigger one.

Honestly, I don't know where so much of M2tw's flagellation comes from.

Seconded, this game is nowhere near unplayable. I happily survived maybe 150 hours of play before I felt the need to get a mod. Nevertheless, you should probably make sure to patch the game, that helps a lot to solve some of the small problems that came with it on release.

Definatley worth getting, its pretty cheap nowadays, if you like it, Kingoms is a great addition along with it.

The game is a lot of fun. The bugs can make it extremely frustrating at times. I had to install a mod before I could really enjoy it though.
