    Default Atheist Crusade

I think that all the atheists who spend their time attacking Christianity would find it more worthwhile to go to the middle east and spread their 'enlightment' over seas. If religion really is dumb, then lets ask the Jews and Muslims to stop killing each other.

^ I've heard a Catholic once say that Richard Dawkins is like the Pope of the atheists. I do notice similarities in that regard....

Would that make me, who has never read anything by Richard Dawkins and couldn't care less about the guy, any less of an atheist?
No, not? How then, can you call him the pope of atheism, if being an atheist has nothing to do with giving a damn about Richard Dawkins, which I'm sure you must agree that it hasn't.

I've heard a Catholic say that all Protestants are stupid. I guess that must be true as well.

I do notice similarities in that regard....
Really? So all atheists believe that Dawkins is infallible? We all agree that he is our head and if we don't we are excommunicated? He wears robes and presides over elaborate ceremonies of unbelief in vast temples of atheism?

    Get a clue. Please.

Dawkins is an atheist and writes books about why. That's all. As an atheist, I agree with him on one thing and one thing only - that God is unlikely to exist based on the evidence available to us. That's it. I also happen agree with him on some other things, but disagree with him on others, but that has nothing to do with our mutual atheism. He's nothing like a "Pope".

I'm beginning to think that the only thing that would convince me of the existence and miraculous power of God would be if, by his divine power, you actually posted something that made the slightest lick of sense. If that ever happened I'd fall to my knees praising the Lord!

Arguments on whether God or a being of omnipotence exists or not are always just differing arguments from personal incredulity.

In short, it cannot be proven either way whether God exists, and whether its religion, atheism or any other viewpoint, of which is the correct one.

Each opinion has its "evidence" to "prove" its "correct", but in truth, if any of it was conclusive, then there wouldn't be the deep divisions we have on this planet today.

    However I will say this:

Oh and Richard Dawkins is a prick.

    Such an arrogant arse.

But that doesn't mean that I disagree with him.

    He's right.

It just that if I met him, I probably wouldn't like him.

I know someone who's met him and they said he was charming - very polite and actually rather reserved and almost shy. And they said his wife Lalla was also lovely. He was thoroughly taken with the both of them.

He also came across as being that way when talking to some of the more intelligent and articulate believers in the documentary Root of All Evil?, though not when dealing with braindead, yammering hypocrites like this moron. I can't blame him.

Who the hell are 'the' atheists? That's like saying Henry Ford is the god of the car-drivers.

Except unlike religious people Atheists don't bow down to such people and follow their doctrine...well...religiously.
Atheists tend to be free thinkers, able to think independently and critically.

A great many of the Atheist's do look down on those who don't share the same lack of beliefs, And some of the 'sheepish' and conformist Atheist (As in Emo's who become Atheist because SOD put's out a song against religion) take that to an extreme, And That's hardly intellectual and highly hypocritical considering Atheism is supposed to be the route of Logic, reason and all that good jazz.

Well, my primary interest is in the affairs of my own society, which is predominantly christian. Not another society. They way I see it, you need to establish a base before you go on crusade.

So there is such a thing as Atheist Church now?

what about all the Christians who spent their time attacking the beliefs of a culture/people and then practically forced them onto the people telling them that they where all wrong

Calm down, Thiudareiks. It was just an interesting comparison by a friend of mine. That doesn't mean it's true.

    worst dodge ever.
The "It wasn't me, it was a friend of mine" defense hasn't worked in a long time.

    Then why did you say:

I do notice similarities in that regard....
So what are these similarities, pray tell? :hmmm:

Ummm, no - atheism has no "evidence" to "prove" its "correct" and never claims to. It simply looks at the supposed "evidence" theism has to "prove" its "correct" and finds it wanting.
