    Default desyncrinasation of online games

    hi folks,
I have just started playing IBFD online, GREAT game great fun,
Sadly i keep desyncrinisng out of the game usually about half way through somstimes i resync back in sometimes not,
I played one game with 5 players i was the only one to desync,
I have played one on one about 6 times and desync in at least 4 of those games,
As far as we can tell our games are set up the same, i have not altered any files in any way,
I HAVE SEARCHED THE FORUMS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING REGARDING THIS ISSUE,
    PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN,
    CHEERS DOUGIE J

If you had modified the files in any way then you would not be able to join in the multiplayer game in the first place.

I would presume the problem may be caused by your internet connection. There may be some other programs running that is interfering with the connection.

Check which services are running and remove all unwanted ones. To do that either use msconfig (run it from start>run program) or run something like Advanded Windows Care Personal ( http://www.download.com/Advanced-Win...=uo&tag=button ) which is a free for personal use bit of software.

If you install Windows Advanced Care Personal there is a way to look up what each service is - there is a direct link into a web page that holds information about various services. They will recommend if a service can be turned off or not. You need to know a bit about your PC for some of these things - I have a nvidea raid on my hard drives so no nvidea service is switched off.

You can use this product to do a scan on your PC - there is no need to correct any problems unless you are comfortable doing so.

If in doubt don't switch it off!

If you just use msconfig then you will need to look up each service yourself on the internet. I used to do this. I first read about these services in a magazine a number of years ago.

You need to make sure that you know what services you are stopping before you do so. I've stopped some in the past and had a few problems to resolve.

A lot of applications leave services running in the background. They can be triggered to start at certain times to see if there are any updates (for instance). I know Quicktime (Apple) leaves things when an update has been done (so there must be something running to set this off).

I once had a HP (for my printer / scanner) service running that would cause the game to be minimized (but still running) while something was being run. Not so bad in a turn based game but a disaster in a motor racing game - I crashed a number of times before I got some help with it. The people at HP were very helpful and reminded me about services.

I somehow think that most of your problems will be to do with your internet connection.

For BRUSILOV, and anybody else, for future reference,
My dsync issue seems to have been sorted out
I downloaded windows advanced care personal this allowed me to safely turn of three programs that were running on my system start up,
    1. A JAVA UPDATE SEARCH.
    2. A WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER UPDATE SEARCH.
    3. SOMETHING GOGGLE WAS RUNNING (this is my default search engine)TO BLOCK OTHER SEARCH ENGINES,
The result is i am now playing on line with no dsync issues
Once again many thanks to BRUSILOV

Good to hear. It's sometimes interesting (?) to see what some applications leave to run behind the scenes. Even now I still get Quicktime doing searches for updates - I presume that's some sort of scheduled event.
