    Icon13 Great mod, terrible formations!!!

    Where did you guys find these weird formations:hmmm:?I dont believe that any army ever had used that kind of positioning in the battle.Even old Medieval had better and realistic formations.
    Please do us all favor and throw away those fantasy gap holes between the units.

    The mongols used something similar(but only cav) for making their army seem bigger and increase manuverability for all units in the army.

    The formations are fine and they can always be changed prior to battle.

    Its the combat that i dont like, the units spread out too much or only the front rank charges.

    personaly, i think the AI formations suck big time... they're always the same. and with no sence at all.

    The thing I don't like about BC are the charges. Only the front line charges, and sometimes they stop in the middle of a charge.

    The best and most accurate byzantine formations i ever saw were the Darth's ones!!!
    I tried to engage some byzantine armies and sudenly it was like seeing the history's manual in action!
    TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
    Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

    IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
    Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

    Wasn't that from Regular Medeval?

    Anyways, I do think the AI needs some more formations, Like once I was playing Rajaput and took Kuch using the batter-ram the gates and charge all my Elephants in. The Ally stood there right in front of the gate, with swordsmen, in tight formation. Now seriously, this wouldn't really happen.

    Since GV is atm absent due to his vacation, there cannot be any credible explanation of why such formation formats.
    To my knowledge, they are made so to allow the AI to form more challenging formation during the attack. Human player sets his own formation anyway, and if they don't I found that very weird.

    the only thing i dont like is the formation your units start out in at the beginning of a battle.

    ...But i just change it to Line formation.

    so its cool.


    basically this post is pointless..

    While it's true the player can fix his formations, the AI doesn't when on the defensive. Or even worse, it spends 5 minutes arranging its men into various formations before randomly advancing in a disorganized mess!

    So I agree these strange new formations should be fixed in upcoming editions, or at least make them a bit harder to exploit.

    maybe its your puter dude, while yeah mine the AI starts our spread, it takes it all of 1 minute to get into an organized formation, it also utilizes high ground to its advantage, always. and when its on the defensive, sadly it never advances, i always have to goto it,

    I kno SS has some gone through a handful of great tactics mods; has anyone given those a try to see what works best?

    [first post for me here I think. coming to BC from SS. the opportunity to play as a Vainakh kingdom was just too great for me )

    It has nothing to do with my computer if the AI is marching in circles...

    that was just being a smart a@@ didn't mean anything by it, I personally have never seen the Ai march in circle so whatever it is your experiencing i have no clue about. Like I said before when AI is attacking I see it in the spread formation at start but thats soon fixed. but when its defensive it contracts together and doesn't budge unless i get close to it, but hey i am no team member here just a player like your self so what i post are just my experiences and opinions, with a few jokes here and there

    No problem.

    Usually the AI stays still on defense as well, I just have problems with the time they spend organizing, it's too easy to calvary rush them and rout the whole army in my opinion/experience.

    ok now i kinda wish i had that problem as i have never been able to rush and destroy them with cav. I usually get them putting spears up front, who do you normally play as? i have never played as ERE but have for all the rest. but dont remember what your seeing

    I usually play as Rajputs or Egyptians. With Rajputs I use elephants, and they are so disoriented they can't really put up much of a fight. With Egypt I use horse arches and then just charged whatever heavy calvary I had, incl. general.

    With some factions you just cant charge the enemy full out and make them rout, because your units just dont have the power. Playing as Sindh, iv found i actually have to plan my attack with a combined force of arrows and light cav and infantry if i want to have any hope of winning.
