    Default borrowed the disks

Ok well i bought Rome Total war gold on steam, but there are alot of annoying bugs im finding with this version, So i borrowed a friends disks of Rome Total war the original version and patched to 1.3 to avoid the seige bugs. Now is there anyway to pull BI into this installation, or do i have to keep playing the buggy steam version?

What sort of bugs are there? Maybe if you told us what sort of bugs there were, some of them could be fixed.

Whatever bugs were in 1.5, I'm pretty sure they're in 1.3 and they're probably more abundant in 1.3 than in 1.5.

The point is that if he tells us what problems he has, it could well be something in the disk that messed up a few on the data files, and they can usually be fixed.

well for instance the game crashes often, say every 3 hours. I havnt had this issue with 1.3 actully, nor the seige bug that bugged me constantly. Also at the game difficulty jumps around on me sometimes and im at a loss to understand this. In one battle agasint my urban chorts the warbands will loose freakin fast and route, but the next quick battle the warband will route my cohorts when im taking a city. But its mostly the crash that is bugging me. But the disks with 1.3 do not exhibit any of the problems that i have explained and works very well.

Well it's more likely that your RTW Gold disk is corrupted, and it won't work properly.

its not a disk thats the problem, i downloaded it via Steam, the people behind Counter Strike and Half Life ect. They had RTW availble for purchase for 19.99 the Gold Version so i figured why not.

Then the download was corrupted. Either way, it's installed your game with games files ruined in some way, that's why you keep getting CTDs and stuff.

Yes, but download from some other place, because if you download from the same place, it might still be corrupted. By the way, did you get my PM?

Maybe you got too much stuff on your PC. I think I do. Every time I play Oblivion, the game crashes usually in 30 min. to 5 hr.

can't download from another place, its steam content.

    http://www.steam.com

thats where you get the program, and you purchase games via this program, its a content sale and delivery system

Yeah, so how many games do you have installed, and what's your current memory. You should try uninstalling some games you rarely play, or got rid of.
