Does not work This is probably pre-1.5a.

I wanted to know if anyone had a post-marian reform Roman save in which they already have made the transition of having the Roman armies using the post-marian legion system and having the towns using the correct auxiliarys. PM me if you do

    Thanks

I'm happy to upload my campaign but i warn you I am 100 turns in and have hardly expanded. I do this so that the non Roman factions are really strong with loads of stacks before my named legions come out of barracks.

With RS I find the game gets really good once the named legions appear so I save the best wars and battles until they are assembled. Up until that point I just take over mainland Italy up to Patavium-Mediolanum, east to Segestica and West to Massila, and fight defensive wars if anyone attacks.

Its not until 100+ turns the fun really starts :-)

    By the way:

Where is the save game in the RTW folder? I would post mine but I cannot find it.

If you use Vista it may not be in the place that Kubelwagen has suggested. Windows XP allows you to write files back the the 'program files' folder while Vista does not - I believe they go into an area set up for you own Vista account.

I presume the best way to find them would be to so a search (in Vista).

It's in a folder called 'saves.'

    so C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Roma Surrectum\saves in my case.

How do you change the .sav into a zip file? I can never figure it out.

You don't change it as such - a zip file is like a folder which has its own file extension, you put things into a zip file in order to compress them and post them on the internet.

I've got all sorts of applications installed on my compuet, so this may be different for you. But right click somewhere in windows explorer or the desktop then go to new and then New Zip File, this'll create a zip file. Then drag and drop your save game into the zip file (don't worry it'll copy it not move it) and then you have a zipped save game!

    Brusilov,

Thanks, you are correct. I think save games are in the user folders in Vista.

    hey people,

i don't remember in which forum i read it, but there was a group of players that shared a game. actually it was more than just sharing it. they played something like a senate, and then they decide who's gonna be the 'consul'. then the consul, downloads the file, plays (i'm not sure though) for a few turns i guess, builds and fights battles, then saves the game and another consul picks it up from where the previous one has left it...etc.

that would be a new way and may be a fun way to play this game. it may involve some role playing or something.

what about starting something like that for RS?
