Can't play RTR!

As the topic reads. I can't play RTR v 6.2; I got it patched up and done and when I try to launch it with my Rome Total War Gold Edition CD it lsay "Can't find CD"

Ehm.. posted in the wrong section.. -.-' Well, I post a new post in the right one, feel free to awnser here though, I respond either the way.

Is that an official "patch", a quick search on google and the official forums would indicate not. Discussion of cracks and the such like is banned in the ToS.

RTR 6.2 is an outdated version. Plus, it works with RTW v1.2, not RTW Gold which comes as v1.5 by default. If you have RTW Gold edition try RTRPE. That`s a port of RTR 6 Gold(the last version for RTW v1.2) to the engine of RTW v1.5(the one you have).

Hi Zilart,

As Florin stated, RTR 6.2 is well out of date and was superceded by RTR 6 Gold long ago. Both were designed to work on RTW patched to 1.2, and as you have installed your copy of 6.2 on top of the RTW Gold Edition (which I believe is patched to 1.5) I'm not surprised that it's not working.

Furthermore, if you obtained the copy of 6.2 from the "rogue" rometotalrealsim.com site, there is also no guarantee that it will work at all, and being "unofficial" we cannot support it.

However, all is not lost. Both RTR 6 Gold and the most recent RTR Platinum Edition (RTR-PE) are available at the official RTR site here. Just remember that RTR 6 Gold was designed for use with RTW 1.2, while RTR-PE can be used with either RTW 1.5, or RTW Barbarian Invasion 1.6.
