    Default Video Settings

To get a feel of your mod, I wanted to do a custom battle between two factions. I have a good system (2.67 Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 8800 GT 512MB PCI-e video card), but when I try to run the battle with everything maxxed (8x AA, 16X AF, Highest detail, High for everything else, med shadows), it crashes and tells me there is a problem with the video settings. I use the same settings to play the BC mod and never have a problem. Is there something different in SV that could be causing this problem?

what it is I think is that bc has one unit setting so everyone is pretty much playing with the same units. Where as SV seems much higher powered graphics. But I might be wrong...

Well I did a little more testing and the game does not complain if I set AA to none or 2x. AF can only be set to 4x. If I turn other things off (bloom, reflections, shadows), it makes no difference. It also makes no difference if I have huge units or normal size ones.

do you have level 2 shaders turned on as thats what really does it? What could help you is to click automatically configure settings or something like that.

The only thing i know is that the GF 8 series cards have a problem with the M2 engine, but i know only of a shadow-display problem.

So my advice is that you're setting shadows on the lowest setting, that's what i anyway do for playing M2 although i have an ATI card and i have as well a core 2 duo system and i have not at all such issues with everything else maxed out (incl. AA and AF) except the unit seize is max on Large, but also the res is on 1680x1050.
Btw., the auto-setting-configuration makes no sense, it takes pretty low settings far below what the system can provide.

Any chance for this exam? Very low, because the established Anthropocentrism destroys the basis of existence.
