Default The Pagan Roots Of The Fascist Culture

    http://www.islamdenouncesantisemitism.com/thepagan.htm

fascism was born out of pagan culture, and was later resurrected as a part of materialist culture. There was no fascist ideology or practice throughout the thousand or so years when Christian culture dominated Europe.

... The article wasn't written by Islamists...

Even then, Islamists aren't particularly Fascist either. Extreme right wing yes, Fascist no.

you are confusing things. fascism is usually racially motivated. Fascism demands state worship and worship of a fuher figure. this is totally abhorrent to islam. no matter how many roman salutes you show. islamism essentially is on the same level as capitalism and secularism. both of these are willing to invade every country to make the country islamic or secular. and of those who aren't radical they still want the entire world to become capitalist or islamic societies

Fascism was a result of the confluence of many ideas which developed in the 19th century, but none of them were pagan. Fascism could not have existed without chauvinist social darwinism, the decline of absolute monarchy as a viable form of government (because it brought reactionary conservatives more into the fascist camp), the development of technologies which increased the power of the state such as radios, tanks, and airplanes, and the ultimate failures of the Victorian international system which manifested as the Great War and the subsequent Great Depression. Certain pieces of pagan symbology may have been made use of (the swastika being the most obvious of these), but Christianity caved in to fascist regimes and tolerated or even supported their governments rather than risk destruction, and religion ended up playing no noticeable role in World War II at all.

Fascist as a political movement were virtually synonymous with the politically active catholic right-wing. And they were blessed by the pope, who also tried to save nazis and fascists from justice.

Err, Christianity still dominated Europe during the rise of Fascism, despite the loss of authority the reformation brought.

    I won the thread. CLOSE!

I thought that Germany did make closer ties to their pagan roots due to nationalistic reasons.

They liked to hearden back to their pre-Christian era, during which they defeated Roman legions at Teutoberg and later took over the decaying carcass of Roman Northern Europe, but they were still thoroughly Christian and didn't "revert" to paganism in any way.

No, indeed not. Ironically, in Germany, Fascism looked to both the Germanic tribes and Rome for inspiration. In Italy it was pretty much just Rome. But it wasn't like they started praying to Jupiter instead of God either.

Facism in the way of National Socialism was created by Mussolini and his party in Italy, Hitler just copied it.... and Hitler was Austrian.

When an -ism involves concepts of theocracy, or 'religious lands', an 'umma', that fits the criteria of 'state worship'. As far as Fuhrer figures, you can take your pick, the Caliphate, the Mahdi, or Mohammad worship.

    All the ingredients are there.

Does it have to be a person? A lot of people bowing down to the apex of a pyramid has the same psychological implications as a lot of people bowing down to a bloke with a stupid moustache. The link is the single communal focus.

It's about unthinking devotion more than anything else, and in a worldly sense.

It doesn't always have to be racially motivated. Matter of fact it doesn't even have to be that. Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers the individual subordinate to the interests of the state, party or society as a whole. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity, usually based on (but not limited to) ethnic, cultural, racial, religious attributes.

Well in a sense Osama's brand of islamism is fascist. al qaeda plans killing squads if it gets into powers and labels it's criticised to be murtad apostates who can be killed. but you said islamism plan and simple. connecting iran with al qaeda with the muslim brotherhood with hamas with any islamist political or militant group. sounds more like propaganda. as i said before islamism is the same thing as capitalism. it's an opposing society and way of life.
