    Default One Bill.

Imagine if you could get one bill passed for sure, what would it be.

I personally would have the following "Bill":

    Bill:

    Amendment 28 of the Constitution:

    1. Congress shall make no law regarding the Production or Trade of residents of the United States

    2. Repeal 16th Amendment

    3. Institutes 100$ "citizenship" fee monthly.

    Ooohh.

Interesting. I don't know if I would like that bill or not. It makes sense.

    "Sovernty Bill"

    1. The government follows the gold standard

    2. Repealing Birthright Citizenship

    3. Welfare standards increased to allow less abuse of the system

Gold Standard; in it's purest form? Where you can turn dollars in for gold?

Well the exchange rate would be terrible if it were today. It would definately have to be gradual thing. Not the Gold Standard in its purest sense either, more like gold, silver, copper and platnium.

So I could take a dollar and say, "I want a dollars worth of gold/platinum/silver/copper."?

No of course not, money would be made or backed by the medals I said.

That is well-neigh impossible nowadays, unless you severely devalue the $US. There simply isn't enough gold to be able to hand out if every citizen decides to exchange their dollars for gold (and if there isn't enough for everyone at the same time, it undermines the whole point of having a gold standard). And devalue the dollar isn't something that you'd want to do given the size of the economy and the associated difficulties in regulating it. Especially now, in a relatively unstable period...

Like I said before, it would have to be eased into.

How exactly do you propose to "ease into it". Its either on the gold standard or it isn't.

Anderson often returned to libertarianism (which accounts for his Prometheus Awards) and to the business leader as hero, most notably his character Nicholas van Rijn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poul_An...Libertarianism

Why do we need Tarrifs? They restrict free trade.
