I goofed. I forgot to save the replay for the test game with 12,000 plus units. All I have is a few screen shots. The WRE lost against an eastern allied force. roughly 2800 WRE vs 9400. Did anyone save the replay?

Me too - I will take some shots later today and post them. That was a very laggy game for me. Probably beyond the limit of what I would be comfortable playing online.
Great. The game was laggy for me too. It would be too laggy for say 3 vs 3. Maybe the the weather also added to the lag?

Ok - as promised and after much deliberation over what to pick :hmmm: here are a plethora (yes, that's right, I said 'plethora'!) of screenies -
The first batch represent the main forward Roman defensive lines swathed in darkness and snow. The Arab forces (AI) are moving in on the Roman right flank and make contact first with dismal results. That was OK though as both Julianus and I wanted them to soak up Midnite's artillery bolts - shame on him for sneaking in scorpions!!!(As a footnote, keep an eye out for those scorpions . . .)
We now move to the main army contingents massing on Midnite's centre and left - my Armenians are on the far left with Julianus' Sassanids in the centre. The poor old Arabs are routing all over the place and generally being cowardly as Arab armies were in this period. Note here the massed ranks of heavy archer cavalry forming up against the Roman ordines. While the steppe archers are wheeling about in circles raining ineffectual arrows down on the ranks of the mailed Romans, Midnite is busy firing back and wasting his limited resources - again. something which plays into our favour here.
before th main event, as it were, kicks off, here's a little light show from the remnants of the Arabs on Midnite's right flank. This is the last of the arrows and scorpion bolts, which are wreaking havoc in a pretty and devastating rain.
Now a combined Sassanid and Armenian clibinarii assault on Midnite's left flank and centre, aiming to crack open the weak joint of the corner with a relentless wave of mailed horsemen and archers. The entire regalia of ancient Persia and Armenia descend on the poor Romans, riding out of the snow like wraiths from a long lost epic.
From here on in, it's ugly as the cut-off Roman ordines crumple in on themselves and fall one by one. It's a tough struggle as the discipline and courage of the legionaries and auxilia stand them in good stead but it is all in the end to no avail. Retreat is never going to happen and the wave of armoured horsemen keeps on coming without respite. Small knots of Romans stand back-to-back and fall to a man in the wine-press of battle.
An amazing if laggy online game - and a valiant last stand on the part of the Romans.
excellent job with the screenshots. The "light show" pictures came out well using the night and winter settings.
