File Association error

When I try to launch the mod from either the shortcut or the batch file I get an error reading: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set associations panel. I am running Windows Vista, I have 5.1 installed in the correct path and I can't bring up the file association window on the batch file and I could, I wouldnt know what program to associate it with. Any advice would be great.
