    Default Wait... WHAT?

    Playing as Kiev, about to fight the Mongols around 1219. Then I get a message America has been discovered?! And then the next turn England, France, Spain, and the Vikings have full colonies in America? English crusaders fighting the Aztecs? And the Mongols won't move or do anything.

    What's with that? Hours of a campaign down the drain! Things like these discourage me from trying new mods, which is a shame because a lot of DLV was enjoyable (except for my invisible archer militia, and my armies being permanently mutinous... )

    It's not a historical mod. It's more about role-playing and a high level of difficulty.

    Seems worthy of a sub-mod for some people though!

    The American discovery is earlier because you would have to play 600 (?) turns to get it if it would be historical correct...
    This should make America more attractive, but I still think it's because of its low value quite useless in the whole game.

    Low value?
    America, once you conquer it and convert the populace to your religion, is a great source of income. With decent merchants over there you can earn over 1000 florins per merchant on things like tobacco etc.
    Of course it's very expensive to take america both financially and in time, plus added time to keep it stable enough to be holdable against rebels. Once it's in your hands completely though you shoudl have no problem keeping it as the other european factions don't go over there after their initial "free" army is destroyed.

    Since I need more armies to defend myself while Age of Darkness etc., I won't waste soldiers and brave family members anymore for expensive shipping over there instead of conquering the big known world.

    If you dont't like it ..just ignore them...the new colonists will die without any player support and nobody will ever heard anything from them...Just as in real history...lol
